A message from ICAA Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter: Following up on the success of Columns and Coffee at Union Station, we invite you to join us at Washington National Cathedral on Saturday, May 8th for outdoor sketching.

The 14th century English Gothic building is the 6th largest cathedral in the world and 3rd largest church in the United States. Severe damages caused by the 2011 earthquake are still being repaired, offering us the unique opportunity to sketch finials, gargoyles, and sculptures which are normally far out of view, but are currently on display at ground level.

We will meet for coffee at 10am at Starbucks, 3430 Wisconsin Ave NW, and then walk over the Cathedral and sketch until 1pm

Those riding Metro should take Red Line to either Cleveland Park or Teneytown, both of which are a 20 minute walk to the Starbucks. Paid Parking is available at the Cathedral for those who prefer to drive.

Event Date: May 8th, 2021

Event Start: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
